This past May, Ellen Clark , our Tahiti , Fiji and Africa travel specialist spent three weeks in South Africa . After attending the Indaba Conference , the premier travel and trade exposition for the continent of Africa, in Durban, Ellen stayed on for two more weeks inspecting spectacular lodges and Boutique guest houses situated in: The Cape including the famed wine regions, the wild game Parks of the Waterberg Region - Malaria free game park as well as private parks adjacent to and in Kruger , plus Swaziland and Zululand , areas rich in traditional arts and culture. Ellen also spent time visiting the exceptional hotels in Durban , Capetown, and Johannesburg . Many of the properties she visited featured extensive displays and decorations created by tribal artisans who are reinventing traditional themes with modern interpretations. |

In April, South American travel specialist, Angelo Chaddad , returned once again to his native Brazil to attend the annual Brazilian International Travel Exposition in Rio de Janeiro . Tour operators through out Brazil attend this expo and each booth is more fantastic than the next. His side trips to the Amazon region included stays at the Eco Park Jungle Lodge; known for its groundbreaking work in sustaining and restoring endangered plant species, as well Manaus . In addition to the main cultural attractions, such as the Opera House, Angelo was able to discover extensive nightlife options and unique shopping opportunities in the gateway city to the Amazon. His next stop was Buenos Aires , Argentina to do an extensive inspection of the hotels and participate in the tours of the primary attractions. Heading north to Salta, Argentina , Angelo explored the high desert terrain of the gauchos with host Martin Pekarek of New Sendas . In December Angelo was invited to be a guest at the Turks and Caicos Club Med. This is an adult's only resort where the diving and snorkeling are unsurpassed, all activities, food and drinks are included and offer plenty of social interaction. |

On the family side of travel, Lei Thuc , a Caribbean, Mexico , Hawaii and Family travel specialist found the ideal Thanksgiving vacation in a Disney Cruise with her family. Her seven year old daughter delighted in non-stop supervised club activities that where age appropriate. Her favorite, besides dining with Minnie and Goofy and collecting their autographs, was making flubber . Fun filled shore excursions, included swimming with dolphins at Paradise Island . The adults could have time alone for their interest, as well as a selection of fine dining options and were able to fully relax knowing their children could reach them at any time with a personal paging devise. Additional days can be added on to include Disney World before or after the cruise. |

Other agency news: I returned to Value Vacation, bringing with me fourteen years of diverse experience in the travel industry. My specialties include Culinary Excursions, Europe , Luxury Rail, and Southwest United States Adventures. This past summer and fall I visited the major art museums of Paris , Amsterdam and New York City . |
