Scuba Diving
Scuba diving is available and quite consistent through out the year. local visibility is approximately 130 ft with average ocean temperatures of 79°F in the winter season and 84°F during the summer. From the ocean surface to 166 ft below, there is only a 1/2 degree difference in temperature. A lightweight suit or even a lycra skin is sufficient for thermal protection throughout the year.
Divers can observe a variety of marine life from the very smallest and most colorful tropical fish that inhabit the abundant coral gardens to the larger fish such as napoleans, giant barracudas, mantas, and many variety of sharks to list a few.
From shallow, crystal clear lagoons, oceanic drop offs and exciting drift diving through the various passes, Tahiti offers an array of conditions for interesting diving.
